Mobile CRM Apps To Grow 500% By 2014 As Market Turns With Decline In PC Shipments

Apr,11,2013
by:+ Alex Williams
Gartner Research is reporting mobile CRM apps will grow 500 percent by 2014, another sign of a shifting market that has more to do with work getting done in the cloud more so than from a server behind the firewall.

This is buttressed by Gartner’s news that SaaS providers will represent more than 50 percent of profits in the CRM market by 2016 and the steep decline in PC shipments that Gartner reported yesterday.

Gartner reports there are 200 apps now in app stores. By 2014, there will be 1,200. Mobile apps will come in a variety of flavors, attacking specific aspects of the CRM experience. Gartner, citing a CIO survey of more than 2,000 people, predicts that vendors will need to build mobile apps around their specific strengths.

Mastering the Three S Model of content marketing: Make it snackable!

Apr,12,2013
by:+Patricia Travaline
Today’s consumer has a very short attention span — and it’s shrinking rapidly. The average individual has an eight-second attention span for online content — that’s one second less than a goldfish and 12 seconds less than he/she had about a decade ago. So if marketers want to make an impression, they need to do it quickly.

The challenge of producing concise, compelling and “snackable” content was a key topic of conversation this year at the Content Marketing Summit hosted by Rise Interactive and my company, Skyword. “People don’t have the time to sift through information that may or may not be relevant,” said Leslie Reiser, speaker and program director of IBM WW Digital Marketing. “They need to understand and enjoy what they are consuming quickly in order to stay and return.”

Key Differences Found In U.K., U.S. Mobile Searchers

Apr,10, 2013
by:+ Laurie Sullivan
Differences and similarities in the way U.K. and U.S. consumers use mobile devices vary based on lifestyle. While both cite the ability to compare prices and read reviews as top mobile research activities, 62% of U.K. consumers using mobile search are more likely to use their devices at home, compared with 52% in the U.S.

Location-based ad network xAd, and mobile call measurement provider Telmetrics jointly released findings from the U.K. Path-To-Purchase study analyzing mobile search in the United Kingdom. The study conducted by Nielsen measures 1,500 U.K. smartphone and tablet users and what they report doing via mobile devices.

Featured Report: Google Glass Represents The New Age of ‘Tech Intimacy’
Molbie Marketing Watch

by:+Michael
The development and launch of Google Glass could usher in an era of computer intimacy.

That’s according to comments made public Friday by Intuit Chairman Bill Campbell.

Campbell has also served as a member of Apple’s Board of Directors for 16 years, dating back to the 1997 return of Steve Jobs as Apple CEO.

Speaking at an event today inside of the Mountain View, California-Intuit headquarters, Campbell didn’t address Apple in great detail. But he did speak about Google Glass, suggesting that the technology represents a “blueprint” of sorts for the future.

Hello Businesses Owner,

I am writing to you because our changing health care system will have a profound effect on all of us. Now that the election is over and the Supreme Court has ruled, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is not going away. It will not be repealed and it is up to us to make sure it will work for small businesses and individuals as it was intended to do.

That’s why I joined the Campaign for Better Health Care’s newly created Small Business Health Care Consortium (SBHCC). This consortium views the needs of small businesses and their employees as a top priority.

And, as a member of the Steering Committee of the SBHCC I am personally inviting you to join our network of small businesses who know that only through our collective voices that will assure that the Affordable Care Act live up to its goal of making healthcare affordable for all.

Discussions around health reform have been confusing and, sometimes, even misleading. It is the goal of the SBHCC to provide factual information about the changes that are already happening and those coming in the near future. The SBHCC discusses the benefits and opportunities of the ACA and what Illinois small businesses need to do to make sure this law will benefit them.

Many key components of the ACA are national in nature. For instance, small businesses currently providing health insurance to their employees could be eligible for a 35% tax credit. And, while employers with fewer than 50 full time employees are not required to provide health insurance, their employees can take advantage of the ACA’s benefits.

Other components will be implemented at the State level and these decisions will either enhance small businesses or provide another hurdle. One important component is that all states must implement a health insurance exchange (marketplace). These exchanges will include a rate review process with defined, easy to understand plans to consider and review side-by-side.

As small business owners we share many of the same, serious business challenges. It is my hope that you and your small business peers do want to learn more about the ACA. Let’s take this opportunity to act collectively to get control of health insurance costs and improve access to coverage. The opportunity to create positive change is now. It is about fairness and choices for small businesses. To that end I like for you to hear my own personal story about how the new healthcare law will effect me.
